Farewell, March

Dear friends,
Let me start by offering congratulations on making it to the end of March. This has been quite a month.
This'll be a short note, mainly to tell you about two online classes I'm offering, Short Fiction Seminar and Writing Through Crisis. See below for details on each.
I hope you are OK. I hope you are finding ways to feel safe and loved and maybe even hopeful. I am relying on distraction. I am 100 pages into Infinite Jest and I am looking for things on Twitter to make me laugh (like the above riff on Mary Oliver's poem The Summer Day). I am trying to find joy in birdsong and night skies and the miracle of being alive. Sometimes it works. Sometimes I eat Oreos.
You won't get three newsletters from me in April, but I hope you'll be in touch about how you're doing, what you're reading, writing, watching, and emoting about. Take good care.
Short Fiction Seminar starts this Thursday
Short Fiction Seminar: 5 Thursdays starting April 2, 5:00-6:30pm, Zoom
I will be offering a 5 week online short fiction seminar that will center around reading short stories & discussing craft elements. I expect we will do some writing exercises as well. There will be no workshopping. This class is for those of you who have always wanted to dig a little deeper into understand how stories are constructed.
Here is the link to sign up. Please email me with any questions!
