Hello and happy Friday, friends!
Before we get to today’s writing prompt, I want to share some news with you: I am going to be making some changes to the offerings for paid subscribers. You’ll still hear from me pretty much every week, with thoughts and tools to support your writing practice. The changes I’m making are geared toward allowing more of my content to reach a wider readership.
I’ll have all the details for you next week, but today I want to say again how much your support means to me and how grateful I am for it. I am self-employed and your subscriptions are an important part of my income.
More importantly, your support has allowed me to invest more time in this platform, in formulating my ideas and experiences with writing and sharing them, which is pretty much why I get out of bed in the morning.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you 💜
It happened: I finished another jigsaw puzzle. The right side of this puzzle kept me busy for quite a while, but after much slow plodding, I finished it. At some point I’ll start another one, but for now I’m just enjoying the afterglow of that effort.
For today’s prompt, tell me about a time you/a character completed a task, big or small, concrete or abstract. How did it feel? What were the challenges?
If that doesn’t inspire you, think about a time you/a character wanted to finish a task but were unable to. There’s conflict and longing all over that one, which is usually exactly what we need to jump start our writing.
Happy writing!
